📊 Model Methodology

Model C is a purely statistical calculation based on the Four Factors of Basketball Success, designed to objectively rank NCAA Basketball teams using advanced analytics.

📐 Formula Components

The C-Score is calculated using weighted team statistics:

  • Shooting (TS%) × 0.4 40%
  • Turnovers (TOV%) × 0.25 25%
  • Rebounding (TRB%) × 0.2 20%
  • Free Throws (FT/FGA) × 0.15 15%
  • Simple Rating System (SRS) Schedule Strength

⚠️ Model Limitations

This model does NOT account for:

  • Player injuries or suspensions
  • Game venue (Home, Away, Neutral)
  • Game fatigue or travel schedules
  • Individual player performance
  • Recent team momentum or trends

Model C tracks only team-level statistics and should be used as one of several analytical tools.
